One of the most visited areas in Costa Rica is the Central Pacific Zone cause it has the perfect combination of beach, fun and beautiful nature. The trip is only a couple of hours from San José. This paradise has popular spots for surfing and sports fishing. It also has beautiful tropical forests rich in wildlife, islands completely covered in vegetation. The most popular beaches of the area are, Matapalo, Manuel Antonio, Esterillos, Jacó, Hermosa, Herradura, Punta Leona, Tambor, Montezuma, Malpaís, Santa Teresa.

Puntarenas is the largest port city of the Central Pacific. It offers all sorts of attractions. It is a narrow strip of land in the Gulf of Nicoya. It is also an important port for large ships, cruises and yachts.

Across the Gulf of Nicoya, in front of Cabuya, you will find Cabo Blanco Natural Reserve. Here you will enjoy pelicans hunting, a dry forest, hidden beaches and waterfalls.

600 km from Puntarenas you will find Coco Island. This island, which marks the furthermost limit of the country, was declared by UNESCO Patrimony of Humanity. The invaluable wealth of the Island is now its natural life, made up of species like the hammer shark and dolphins that live in coral reefs and share the ocean with hundreds of other species.
